2009 Labor Day Parade

We are looking for at least 50 students and 5 Parents to join us in the 2009 Labor Day Parade in Newtown.
 
 
PARADE PRACTICES


All participants must attend the two parade practices – details are below.  Please let one of the instructors know if you cannot attend.
  • When:
    • Sunday, August 30, 2009 from 6pm to 7:30pm
    • Sunday, September 6, 2009 from 6pm to 7:30pm
  • Where:  Porco’s Karate Academy in Sandy Hook
  • What to Bring:
    • All students should come in their full karate uniforms.
 
 
 
PARADE DAY


When:  Monday, September 7, 2009
  • Line-Up Location: Currituck Road - Division 4 (Look for the color ORANGE)
  • Arrival Time:  Between 9:30am
    • There is a shuttle bus from Hawley School which will bring you to the monument. It will begin running at 8:45 am and the last run will be at 9:45 am.

  • Parade Start Time: 10am
  • What to Bring:
    • All students should come in their full karate uniforms.
    • All parents should come in khaki shorts or pants and a PKA Karate Shirt.
 
 
 
GENERAL PARADE INFO
The line-up begins at 8:45 am with the parade scheduled to start at 10:00 am on Monday, September 7, 2009. The parade begins in the area of the monument at the head of Main Street (Route 25) and ends at the traffic light at Queen Street and Church Hill Road.
