The 2009 Donut Dash, while rainy, went off
without a hitch on Sunday, March 29, 2009. PKA's head instructors Mr. Porco and Mr. Perry along with Newtown Park
and Rec's Steve Smeeker partook in a 2.29-mile race through Newtown called the Donut Dash. The Donut Dash is a PKA
developed and executed event aimed at raising money for Newtown Youth and Family Services. Donations are still being
accepted as final donation amounts raised during the event are still being tallied.
Newtown Youth and Family Services is an organization
dedicated to helping deliver youth development activities, counseling services, family strengthening programs and prevention
initiates to Newtown residence.
